Cats need 55-70 milliliters of water per kilogram of body weight. That is, 220-280 milliliters of water throughout the day is enough for a cat weighing four kilograms. Apart from that, there is no problem if you don't take all of this water as 'water'. Most of the water needs are met with fish or meat broth.
Even if the cat is given water properly, it is not possible to keep track of how much water it has consumed. Instead, if the cat seems to be drinking less water, it can be checked for dehydration. You can do this test at home very easily. If the skin between the cat's ears is gently pulled back and released within two to four seconds, the cat is not dehydrated.
